Christian Education at Hope begins in preschool and continues through adulthood. Our preschool through Elementary age Sunday School is run in conjuncion with Sunday morning worhip. After our Sunday morning worship, coffee and refreshments are served in our Gathering Room, providing a time for community fellowship. After this time of fellowship Christian Education begins for 6th graders through adults and lasts for approximately 30-40 minutes.
Children, preschool through 5th grade, are in the sanctuary for the first 15 minutes of the service. They then receive a blessing and are excused to meet in the "Children's Worship Space", our newly decorated classroom. Each week a Storyteller shares a parable or story visually with the children, using hand crafted characters and settings. Afterwards, the children are free to use these characters to act out the story, create an art project related to some part of the story, or use the "Desert Box" to retell the story.
Students in grades 6-12 gather in our Youth Room after Fellowship. It's a warm, friendly and inviting place - just right for a relaxed time of fellowship and learning. Our goal is to provide teens and tweens opportunities to examine life and faith issues using biblically based materials including the latest music, movies, news and current events.
Adult Classes meet after Fellowship and are led by the pastor, church leaders and community members. Past discussions have focused on world religions, the history of religion, the storys behind religious symbols, Advent, Lent, Passover and our religion relative to current events.
In addition to our Sunday morning Christian Education programs Hope has two youth groups, Lighthouse (for middle and high school students) and F.R.O.G. (for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade). Click on the "Youth" tab on the main menu for more information about both groups.
The point of all our Christian Education Programs is to learn and have fun! All are welcome!
